O o o Ophelia why do you not get the respect you deserve. It is highly preposterous that you did not receive the proper burial that you shall have received. You were as normal as anyone else, but the events occurring in the past few months had driven you to go mad and I believe its completely understandable.
Whether or not she took her own life does not really matter to me. The people who pushed her to the edge should be punished instead of her. It is not right to not give her a proper burial, who are we to decide this? Let God judge all of us and we will have no problems. Our opinions and immature acts do not matter and should be disregarded and let God decide.
Everyone deserves to be treated equally and know one should get treated any different when it comes to their burial. We all should end up going to one place and let God decide where we end up. By not treating someone equal and not properly burying them here, we may pay in the end when God comes to decide our fates.

The Dilemma
In the play Hamlet struggles to kill Claudius. He struggles not on how to kill him but when to kill him. He is trying to catch Claudius doing something bad so he can definitely go to hell so that it postpones the killing.
When he attempts to kill Claudius, Claudius is confessing in the church telling all his sins and being sincere. When Claudius is confessing Hamlet feels sorrow for him and cannot kill him because he is not doing anything bad. Hamlet waits for the right moment to do it but it has not come because he is in a very religious place and not doing anything wrong.

To Be Or Not To Be
In Oliviers "To be or not to be" scene in Hamlet there is not much emotion going on in the scene. It is one picture and not much moving of the camera or actor. The scene being in black and white made it that much worse. The only good part of this scene was the background music which created suspense during the speech.
In Mel Gibsons "To be or not to be" scene in Hamlet it occured in a catacomb. He was surrounded his fathers dead body and a lot of gold and statues. In the scene he moves around a lot and I liked how he did that. He did not use the dagger which was a minor setback I believe in the scene but everthing he used was powerful.

The First Ghost Scene
In class we examined and reviewed three different scenes from three different Hamlet movies. Each movie and scene was filmed in a different time with different directors and different perspectives of the play. In the first movie we watched with Ziffrelli directing and Mel Gibson playing Hamlet, the scene started off dark and spooky. Hamlet (Mel Gibson) had seen the ghost of his father and started to follow him as the night guards tried stopping him. Finally he got away from them and Hamlet and the ghost of his father were speaking on a platform. It remained a calm environment as Hamlet's father explained that his uncle had killed him.
The second version we watched was the Kenneth Branagh version with him also playing Hamlet. This version also was very dark and seemed gothic. This version did not really show much of Hamlets father's face. It was very dark all around him and he talked in a creepy voice. Also in this version that was different from the other was that they flash backed to the scene where Hamlets father was poisoned by his brother and killed. The scene ends with father and son grabbing eachothers hands.
The third version we watched was with Almereyda directing and Hawke playing Hamlet. I disliked this version the least because it was put into a modern sense. I feel like you cannot re create a play like this with old english being used when making a modern version. This version didnt have much dark and gloomy feeling like the others. The ghost of Hamlets father seems unrealistic because there is a lot of touching going on and as a ghost I do not see that happening. This version was not realistic in my eyes.

Blog 1: Me
Hello! My name is Michael Canova and I'm a first time blogger. I am doing my first blog to get a feel for what blogging really is and to tell you a little about myself. I am a 16 year old boy becoming a man and enjoying the trip. I love my family and friends that surround me and make me who I am and help me choose who I am going to be. I'm not perfect and not trying to be, I love to learn from mistakes and prove you wrong the next time I get tested, and thats the best learning skill in life. I love sports and being in good shape. I play baseball and get better every time I play it. A hobby of mine is to listen to music and enjoy the music I'm listening too. I love music that makes you happy because if your happy it keeps you in a good mood and if your sad it makes you feel good. I love family, friends, sports, and music and those things help me move forward everyday and keep me on my feet. That was a brief description of my life and who I am and I look forward to blog more and unravel more and more about myself.
